Visit us at The Cape Community Farm
The Cape and The Cape Community Farm is well suited to hosting school visits. Our farmer is an accredited trainer, and while we currently offer two programmes, we have the flexibility to work with education providers to tailor programmes to suit specific curriculum requirements. These educational experiences at the farm are cost-effective learning opportunities provided to local schools, universities and colleges and they cover courses on Agricultural Food Technology, Sustainable Farming, Sustainable Living and Land-Of-Use Change, just to name a few. This income stream helps fund the day-to-day operations of The Cape Community Farm.
During the farm's first 12 months, it has proudly hosted over 230 students. It's anticipated that this number will grow as promotion of these innovative courses ramp up.
The Cape Experience
Is a 1.5 hour guided walk through The Cape development featuring the opportunity to visit an 8.5 rated solar passive house; a walk around of the award-winning landscape and wetlands; and a tour of the state-of-the-art community farm. The content within this program can be adapted to suit secondary school students years 9-12; primary school students from years 4-6; and University or TAFE Level students.
The cost is $10.00* per student.

In the Farm
This 2 hour hands on program provides students with a direct experience of what it’s like to be a farmer for an hour.
Under the guidance of the farmer, students will have an opportunity to work in our state-of-the-art community farm on a series of short rotation activities. Through their participation in these activities, students will gain an insight into what is involved in growing farm fresh produce from field to fork. This program is well suited to primary school aged students, specifically years 4-6.
The cost is $20.00* per student.
